Description

Colored Pencils are the go anywhere, anytime, no mess, low cost versatile medium. If you can write with a pencil, then you can color with a pencil.

In this workshop you will learn the basics of art, such as color theory, values, composition and drawing. You will work from still lifes, photographs and plein aire landscapes (weather permitting).

Colored pencils are the best medium for achieving detailed, life realistic subjects, fantasy subjects, abstracts or just color sketches for future painting in other mediums or even just doodling such as zentangle

You will learn how to represent:
1. Anything in your house from kitchen items including metal, glass, food, lighting and water
2. Anything outside such as flowers, trees, cars, houses, etc.
3. A variety of common textured surfaces everywhere
4. People and portraits

Areas of colored pencil usage will progress in each class as follows:

1st class– materials and techniques; testing pencils, papers, erasers, strokes etc.  Value and color and blending with pencils.  You will be practicing on a sing subject.

2nd class-learn to blend using solvents

3rd class – landscapes either plein aire or from photos; Portraits and people from photos and life

4th class – creating and working from a still life
