Description

Students will create a collage featuring a single apple using only paper, glue and canvas. Working with “values” of different papers as well as the warms and cools of color, the apple will come to life with an emphasis on capturing the realistic qualities of the apple.

Supply List

  • One apple (red or green) OR a good photo of one single apple. The more contrast and highlights, the better.
  • Misc magazines/craft paper, scrapbook paper, napkins (whatever you have). Multiple colors of tissue paper including reds and/or greens, yellow and white (depending on what apple you use.) A variety of colors and thicknesses of paper is encouraged.
  • Liquid white glue (Elmer’s or generic school glue) at least 12 oz.
  • Plastic or styrofoam bowl (6-8″ diameter)
  • One foam 1″ brush IF you don’t want to use your fingers in the glue mixture.
  • #2 Pencil
  • Sketchpad
  • Scissors
  • 10×10″ OR 12×12″ gallery wrapped canvas
