Description

Learn the techniques to complete a charcoal painting of our State Flower – Magnolia.  All required materials (except a sketch pad) will be provided. The sketch pad will be used for practice work. Charcoal paper for the finished art piece will be provided by the instructor. The workshop is open to all skill levels from beginner to advanced. In this workshop Chryl will lead you through all the following topics:

1) description of charcoal supplies and how to use them

2) basic concepts including basic values, shapes and shading. Demonstration by Chryl and student practice time in combining those concepts to create object appear 3 dimensional.

3) Individualized attention to ensure student feel successful in both learned concepts as well as their finished piece

4) Each participant will leave the workshop that day with a completed charcoal painting!
