Description

Come discover the exciting challenge of creating realistic collage art! We will explore fundamental art principles in composition, texture, values, and color theory through the various applications of collected papers. Students will create their own artwork selected from their own photos or art references. This workshop is suitable for all art levels and no prior experience with collage is required.

  • Several printed images (to choose from) for your subject matter. Consider the same images as you would to paint. Don’t be afraid of details! The more interesting, the better! Various colors are great!!! (Nothing monotone)
  • Misc. magazines/craft paper, scrapbook paper (whatever you have), multiple colors of tissue paper, (A variety of colors and thicknesses of several different papers is encouraged).
  • Magazines with thick glossy paper are great too; also glossy “junk mail” flyers. Any colorful papers that you don’t mind cutting up to create your fabulous art piece!
  • Liquid white glue (Elmer’s or generic school glue), at least 12 oz. You can buy a gallon for $10 -$12 and share if so desired.
