Studio Improvement Campaign
The Art Guild of Louisiana is making meaningful improvements to our home at Studio in the Park, and we invite you to be part of this next chapter. Thanks to generous support already received, our major painting and flooring projects have been 100% funded; now we are turning our attention to smaller but important upgrades that will make the studio more functional, welcoming, organized, and professional for members, instructors, students, and visitors. You can support a specific giving opportunity including new counters and cabinets, kitchenette improvements, coffee and tea service, AV and stage upgrades, signage, or the President’s Discretionary Fund, and every gift helps strengthen the Guild’s ability to serve artists and welcome the public into a creative home for learning, creating, and connecting.
“Left Wall” Locker Counter and Cabinets
Add approximately 20 feet of cabinets, drawers, and counter space along the left wall, including lockable storage for members’ supplies. This project will also provide a clean, flexible counter surface for drawing, still life, and classical academic setups.
“Right Wall” Cabinet and Library Shelving
This project will add three matching pieces of furniture: a glass-front cabinet for still-life props, art supplies, and other studio materials, along with two new shelving units that will allow us to relocate the Guild’s expansive Art Library across the room.
New Stage, TV, and AV Area
Create a flexible stage, lighting, AV, and photography area for life drawing, workshop demonstrations, artwork photography, podcast filming, and future video projects. This upgrade includes a portable modular stage, lighting rails, curtain improvements, and a larger wall-mounted TV for better demonstration viewing.
Kitchenette Cabinets and Countertops
Replace the wire shelving and folding table near the refrigerator with a more permanent kitchenette area, including base cabinets, drawers, countertops, electrical improvements, and upper cabinets. This will give the Guild a cleaner, more functional space for preparing food and storing hospitality supplies.
Reception/Computer Area Upgrades
Replace folding tables and mismatched particle board desks with a proper reception counter and matching computer desk area. This upgrade will create a more professional, organized, and welcoming first impression for members, students, instructors, and visitors.
Coffee Bar
Create a fun, designated coffee and tea area within the right-side counter space, complete with water for a new Keurig, storage for mugs and supplies, LED lighting, and artistic signage. This small but inviting upgrade will add warmth, hospitality, and personality to Studio in the Park.
President’s Discretionary Fund
Provide flexible funding for small studio improvements, creative extras, workshop lagniappe, visiting instructor gifts, special awards, and occasional member assistance. This fund gives the Guild room to respond quickly to needs and opportunities that make our programs more welcoming, generous, and memorable.
