Description
New desire to engage with watercolors? Just happens that we have this class to work with you through the supplies and how to use them. We will focus on setting up your palette and work space, mixing colors, composition and values.
Roberta Loflin
Roberta Loflin obtained a BA in art history and theory from George Washington University, when she lived in the Washington, DC area for several years. She studied communication design at Northern Virginia Community College and color theory, watercolor, and drawing at the Art League School in Alexandria, Virginia.
Since moving to Baton Rouge, she has taught watercolor with the Art Guild of Louisiana, as well as Lifelong Learning Institute at LSU, LSU Leisure Courses, private lessons, and with other art organizations. She has most recently become a published illustrator of children’s books.
Supply List
This is my basic list of supplies. Please get professional quality paints, if possible. I like to use DaVinci and Grumbacher Academy (an excellent inexpensive brand to start). It may be necessary to use a website or catalog to get the needed supplies. I recommend Dick Blick, as they have a big watercolor supply selection. Mo’s Art Supply is the best local art store, 4573 Bennington Ave., 225-831-4870. If you are unsure about what to purchase, we will discuss supplies and answer any questions at the first class. Any questions prior to that, contact me at: Email Roberta Loflin.
