Corona Virus (COVID19) Updates

As COVID19 continues to disrupt our lives, the AGL Board continues to monitor the daily news and announcements from our public officials so that we can make informed decisions regarding our programs. While we want to continue to provide our members with opportunities for creative expression during these stressful times, we want to do so in a healthy and safe way for us all.

All updates and changes for individual AGL events will be posted on the Calendar as quickly as possible. Please take advantage of this resource which we provide for your convenience. Please keep in mind the following information is subject to change as the COVID19 guidance from our public officials evolves.

Workshops: In keeping with the Studio in the Park remaining closed until June 5, 2020, the Larry Downs drawing workshop is being rescheduled for July. Please go to the Workshops page for details and supply list. We strive to keep the Workshop page up to date with the latest info. When/if previously cancelled workshops are rescheduled participants that were registered in the initial workshop will be notified directly regarding new workshop dates.

Exhibits: According to the BREC Guidelines of Phase 1 reopening, the Independence Park Theatre/Gallery building will remain closed until June 5, 2020. Therefore, the Spring Judged Show, currently hanging at the Independence Park Theatre Gallery, remains inaccessible to be judged. The awards reception tentatively scheduled for June 7 is cancelled. The current plan is to have the show judged before the end of June. Award winners will be personally notified and they will be posted on the AGL Facebook page, where the entire exhibit is currently posted.

Studio in the Park – The Studio in the Park is closed to the public and all “open studios” and “life drawing” sessions are cancelled through at least June 5, 2020. We will reassess our ability to reopen after the Governor makes the next public reopening announcement scheduled for June 1, 2020.

In the meantime stay safe, practice healthy hygiene, and keep painting!!
